Best goo for NV5

Question: What is the best thermal compound to use with an NV5? I have three to choose from...
1) AS5
2) silicon that comes with the NV5
3) some white stuff that come with my SLK-900A, which i assume is Ceramique.

my origional idea was to use AS5 on the core, and silicon on the memory, then i remembered i have the Ceramique (or at least i think it is). so...perhaps i'll use AS5 for the core, ceramique for the mem. i definantly want to use something nonconductive for the mem, just to be sure i don't short something.

i want to know the same thing. I have some AS5 lying around, is it really too risky to use it on the 6800GT/NV5? why should i chose ASC over it when im already using AS5 on my CPU?

I used as for the core, and white goop for the ram. There are rumors about AS being conductive, even though its advertised as not. Then again its not worth taking the risk, plus AS is a pain to clean off ram chips.

obviously youve never used ASC 😉

(extremely easy cleanup)

I used AS5 on the core, the included paste on the RAM. Interesting thing though - I had to apply a fairly thick layer of AS5 to the core in order to make any contact at all between it and the heatsink. And this was even after I twisted on those screws like there was no tomorrow. (mine was from eVGA btw.) Let me know guys, how closely this heatsink fits for your card.

i just use ceramique for everything on my pc. no risk of me messing up and frying my pc.

I have the same logic, I used Ceramique on my 9700 pro, zero problems, and I know its not gonna fry anything on my card, and I could just goop a bunch of it on with no worries. AS5 would be best off for the core, but definately use something else for the memory.
