How about bathroom sealant, the silicon stuff, i'm sure you can get clear stuff...

Clear silicone II caulk would indeed be the best bet. I tried using a clear epoxy on a broken headlight once, and while it looked fine at first, after a few months it developed a yellow discoloration, although it did stay translucent.
