I have seen a lot of cards, and I have to say that Guillemot(Hercules) has got to be the best card maker in my book. I have their old 3d Prophet DDR and it is still alive and kicking with a vengence. You might consider the 3d Prophet DDR over the 3d Prophet 2 MX since the DDR actually performs better than the mx for a little more cash.

I read a lot of reviews and personal observations on MX boards b4 I bought one (Hercules Prophet II MX retail), and it's generally accepted that the two best boards are the Hercules retail and the Asus boards. 3D doesn't vary much at all, but 2D on these boards is another issue. I'm not an electrical engineer, but from what I've read the issue centers on the RFI circuitry.

If you are not going to overclock, Hercules is the only way to go.

If you are, get any hercules card
