Hey guys.. Just curious what the best bet would be for a video card primarily used for gaming. Around $200 is my budget. Thanks in advance.

or $5 for a POS trident card. no, not the chewing gum company.

to answer your question, 9700 non-pro is the solution. listen not to the nvidianites.

Serious gamers should look for a 9700 at a minimum. You can find them for ~$220 new, or less used (the one I've seen was offered at $170, a great deal compared to a 9600P). You'd probably be better served just going for a $250 9800, though, if you must buy new--faster at stock, and apparently very overclockable.

Either bump it up to 235 or wait a couple months. 200$ while it SHOULD get you a good video card right now, does not. theres a deadzone between 150 - 215 where everything is crap

I would call all the cards in that region "crap." True there are some crap ones such as the fx5600 ultra, but some are ok. From about $150 to $165 you have the 9600 pro, and you can get a 9700np for about $210. Even the 9500 pro for $190 isn't too bad, though a little overpriced.
