I am looking to get a new mousepad, geared toward gaming. My Duke Nukem 3D pad is ripe for retirement.

What do you use/recommend?

I have one of these:

http://www.xtracpads.com/

11" x 17" cloth mousepad with optical breakup pattern. I use it with a blue Logitech MX510 mouse, it works out great! Lots of room. I also do computer graphics with it and it's really nice.

I use the fUnc sUrface 1030. Dumb name, but its a very nice mousepad. It has two sides; a slow one and a fast one. Best part is it has a clip for the mouse cord so it doesn't always fall behind the desk.

My friend has had one of the xtrac mousepads Kaido posted, and its worn out after about 7 months of use.

yeah, it's just cloth with a nice pattern on it. I also have a smaller one that's the plastic version, thin as a credit card, but I prefer the feel of cloth and the height of cloth. I also have a hard plastic RatPadz for when I travel, which is okay, but it makes a lot of noise when you move the mouse on it.

I have the xtrac hammer (plastic) and xtrac ripper (cloth). I basically taped the hammer on top of the ripper. So now I have a mousepad that is both slick on top and has rubber traction on the bottom. Works pretty well. I have not seen mouse pads that are any larger than these.

Ive tried a few "gaming mouse pads" and I still love the cloth pads. I actually got one for Christmas from my ATOT secret santa and a big thumbs up to that good man.

Laser mouse + glass desk = C4 NGen

I like it a lot, and would definately advise against the Ratpadz. Too rough and slow.

I agree on the rough part. they're great for traveling tho, I just toss it in my backpack when I go to school. I don't like the shape, though, with the indented curve. I usually flip it around so the flat part is facing me.

I use the func too and also like the mouse clip, its such a simple yet incredibly useful idea. Anyway, here's what I think about it, also check out how many reviews it has on Newegg. It's popular and everyone likes it.

Pros:
-Two textures to choose from
-Mouse glides over very smoothly
-Rubber base stays in place
-Not too big, not too small
-Mouse clip works very well
-Good looking tin case for transportation
-Excellent quality
-Reasonably priced (for a gaming mouse pad)

Cons(I can't think of anything major):
-Could be cheaper if they didn't include the case
-Surface might wear out after a while, but I've having no wear problems after 6 months.
-Seems to attract dust and dirt
-...

I have seen a thread for the best gaming mousepad, keyboard and dvd-drive in the past 2 days....jeez

What's the best chair to sit in while gaming? What's the best ambient lighting arrangement for gaming? What's the best car to drive before a long session of gaming?

P.S. Sorry for the thread crapping
