The wheel is great for "next" weapon and "previous" weapon, that way you can scroll easily and effecient through your weapons. The Mouseman Wheel is a great mouse. Besides the wheel you get that 4'th button at your thumb, use is for sniping, jumping og crouching.

if you're using a ps2 mouse, make sure you turn up the rate on it to around 200. This will make the movements much better since it will sample at a higher rate. You'll notice quickly in first person games. Use ps2rate if you're using win98 and look around in the mouse settings for win2k to change the rate setting.

Hot thread... so I'll throw in a question. I know there is a registry entry/fix availble from Logitech for wheel and roller mieces so the middle button can be assigned in games but what about standard three button mieces? For Windows I have the middle button assigned to double-click. If I go into a game it cannot be assigned a function. If I change its function to middle button it still can't be assigned. I have to bring up Task Manager with CTRL + ALT + DEL and end Em_exec.exe to play then when back to the desktop restart Mouse from the Control Panel to get back my middle button functionality there. Tres lame. Any ideas? Thanks.

I think that any mouse that's a different shape and such will take some 'getting used to'.

I have the Explorer (with Intellieye) and i LOVE it. It took a few days to get used to it, but i can't stand working with other mice now. they feel small and dinky. 😉

As for the tracking problems, it only happens when you move your hand ridiculously fast. Much faster than anyone would normally twitch in Q3A or anything. 😉 I have no probs with it whatsoever.

I agree that the Boomslang 1000 is great, but $20 over your budget. Sov05 doesn't have one, he just likes mine. ;-)
