Hi

I have been using a Logitech Cordless Mouseman (Elite) for some time now and I have realised that when playing first person shooter games, the mouse does not register motion and clicking at the same time. So everytime I click repeatedly to fire, the pointer would not move and until I stopped clicking, did the mouse regain its natural movement. So far the opt

I am interested in the Logitech MX700 and I was wondering if the MX sensor cures this problem. If this is a wireless mouse problem, then please suggest me other good optical gaming mouses.

Thanks

stardust, I have a simple/inexpensive LogiTech mouse and I have not run into the problem you have described IN FPS

I don't mean to take this thread off-topic, but perhaps a little more troubleshooting might need to be done to solve your issue and maybe it'll save you some cash as well :)

The best gaming mouse is no doubt the MX700, most accurate wireless mouse available. You could get the MX900 (Bluetooth Version of MX700), or the MX500 (Corded version of the MX700). Either way, none of them will leave you wanting...

Well i have latest drivers, and the mouse works fine. But a simple test like moving your mouse on ur wallpaper left to right and watch its smoothness, then gently and repeatedly press the mouse button and continue moving left to right and I can see that the movement is choppy and stops during the click and unclick period of pressing my mouse button. I know that maybe pressing my mouse may impact the movement, but I doubt it because i was careful in my motion and even tried 2 hands.

Both the MX500 and MX700(cordless version) are excellent for gaming ,also at this time they`re the fastest optical mice you can buy for gaming, the MX sensor can track movement up to 40 inches per second, you can`t go wrong with either(depends on if you want cordless or not).

A good gaming mouse pad like the Everglide Giganta Optical or Ratpadz/fUnc 1030 etc would be a very nice match to bring the best performance out of it.

Agreed, the any Logitech MX mouse would be great.

Personally, I found the MX500/700/900 too big for my tastes, so I got a MX310. MX300 is about the same size too.

is teflon frag tape and a smooth gaming pad worth it? I use my wooden computer desk for my mouse space rite now, not even a pad

I would say yes, people spend lots of money on a decent mouse for gaming and lets face it spending a little bit more for a good mouse pad and the optional teflon tape doesn`t cost that much, besides if you have a MX700 mouse or any rechargeable or cordless optical mouse & decided to buy the Everglide Optical Giganta mouse pad (for example)will make the batteries last longer between charges, this is due to the fact that the optical sensor finds it easier to track on the mouse pad surface so requires less power, even a normal non cordless optical mouse will find it easier to track and so be smoother etc.

The main problem with gaming pads is there`re quite a few to choose from and deciding on the right one can be confusing.

I am using Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer 3.0 USB for 3 years, played counter strike professionally in leagues and never had a problem... Had 1 small problem(cable problem, nothing to do with optic) and Microsoft replaced it in a heartbeat... Thinking Price/Value wise, I think IntelliMouse is best in gaming... Of course MX700 is awesome but I think it like that considering I am currently using wired keyboard and mouse and a 17" monitor:

-In order to use the features of a wireless mouse, I need to sit away (at least 2.5 ft) from the monitor so I can really make use of a wireless mouse,
-in that case I will need a wireless keyboard too which will add another minimum 20 bucks to the cost of wireless leisure
-in that case I will need to buy a bigger monitor or run 800x600 or 1024x768 resolution which I hate and also I have a good video card and I will keep asking myself that why I am running such a miserable resolution on a great video card, eventually I will either change my video card or go back to wired stuff... or simply buy a 21" monitor which will take my account balance to negative values..

Did I sound too pesimistic?? lol... no offense, that's just what I think.. I m still thinking of buying mx700 if I sell my keyboard.. so I can go wireless..

Everglide homepage .

Purchased! Ok I hope this is a good one, because I was about to get the Xtrac HS Optical. I also ordered the Tape. What was weird was that If you order the tape with the Everglide Optical Giganta, its $2, but when u buy it seperately its only $1. I hope i get my pad and tape in one piece....

Was this a good buy Mem? $25 for that pad and tape and $75 for MX700 and Keyboard combo... I'm such a compulsive buyer...

stardust,I live in the UK so can`t really comment on the prices US wise, anyway the pad and mouse are both excellent, tape wise you just cut it off(mine came in two strips) into little pieces and make sure it covers all the feet areas(comes with instructions)you should have enough tape to do at least two mice(one strip per mouse).
