I'm looking for the best, speed, stability, user-friendly motherboard, cost is no issue.

probably another soyo would be a good choice..
they always have killer features and excellent overall products.
you can also get an EPoX or Asus

are you sticking with AMD or do you want to go Intel?

I'm going AMD, I'm pleased with the Soyo I have, but I wanted to check if there's better boards out, or coming soon.

stay with what you have for NOW.. upgrade may be a good idea SOON, but right now, your board is good
if you've got money to burn go ahead. but what you got is great... ;)

The N-force 2 boards promise a performance boost for AMD systems. If i was going to update my AMD system soon, it would be with this board.

ABIT NF7-S

Also, Evan is doing an Anandtech N-force 2 roundup review soon.

Looks like a good board.. wish it had an extra UDMA controller (RAID controller)

ABIT NF7 Review

check this out, it looks as if it doesn't have a s/pdif out it has an optical out connector. Why in the world would they go for an optical out instead of s/pdif out connector ???

You probably mean coax? SPDIF can be referred to both coax and optical out. Anyway, optical is just as good, if not better but my only beef with it is the cable (and how much it costs). With coax, a cheap RCA cable would do.

I don't think so, for example system my receiver has all three, I have my Digital TV box which has an S/PDIF out connected to my S/PDIF in on my receiver
I have my VCR which has RCA 5.1 surround connected to my RCA In.
and my DVD which has Optical out connected to my Optical in.
All three are different.

I understand what your saying but for us who have our systems connected to home theatre system for example now need to make sure that we have an optical in instead of s/pdif.

Luckily my second unit that's connected to my PC has both "actually three" RCA cables for 5.1 surround, a S/PDIF in and an Optical In but not all systems out there automatically have an Optical in. So those buying this board thinking to connect it to their system may be in for a surprise.
