I want a mouse that fits my hands well (currently using a Microsoft Comfort 3000 and it's giving me pain in my right hand because it's too small to hold and doesn't have proper curvature). I've been looking at Logitechs and all but I really don't know what's good and what's not (I've been fragging a lot on this Microsoft....sad to see it go, but it's going to happen.). Any suggestions?

If you want wireless, I recommend a logitech G7. A little bit above your budget but can be had on sale (or w/ a rebate) for under $50.

We've already got a good gaming mouse thread on the front page of Peripherals but I will still recommend you look at a Razer. Have been using them for many years and they are excellent.

A new mouse wont make you play better but it will make you realize just how much an old mouse was holding you back.

Hmm....after much debate and looking at comparisons, I think I'm going to return this G5 and get the MX518 instead.

Currently using the MX518....and for some reason, I think the max sensitivity still isn't enough :p

Newegg shows the G5 and the MX518 at basically the same price.

The MX518 is a very good mouse, but if you really want to make the mouse shine up the polling rate to the USB port. At stock, it's at 125 units(I can't remember what it's mesured in). But once it's saturating the USB ports, it should be at 1 Hz or KHz...

I do have that same problem at times too, but then I realize I probably would frag myself more at higher sensitivities anyways...lol

For shooters to me its alot better to get a bigger mousepad + lower sensitivity. Let's you aim with more precision, and aiming through your arms is faster.

Yes, which is why you can combine a high resolution mouse (high DPI/CPI) with a low sensitivity (pointer speed) setting for the ultimate accuracy.

read that before you buy something
id say avoid laser mice until they're much more mature
i recommend an MX500 if you can find one, or an MX518

I really hate that site, and it only potentially applies to a severe minority of users. The fool doesn't even properly understand DPI, and his tests and ways of weighing advantages are all flawed.

Although he doesn't get everything wrong. I still love my MX510, and tweaking the USB polling rate makes the mouse all the better - but since upgrading to a Copperhead I certainly wouldn't go back, the MX510 is going to stay on my other computer.
