Best Gaming laptop under $1000

I am looking to replace my aging Sager 5100C and want a laptop that can also handle DirectX 8.0 games like AOE, AOM, Baldur?s Gate II, Starcraft, Warcraft III, and similar games. I know my Radeon 7500 can handle most of the game I would play on it. I was also planning on using it on my wireless network and using it to run Photoshop & Visual Studio.Net for school and church work. A DVD/CD-RW would be nice, but not necessary.

All suggestions are welcome even if there are over my budget.

You might get a decently configured Inspiron 5100, or even a 5150 under a hot deal + coupons....

Man, that is a coincidence, that is exactly the place I WOULDN'T buy ANYTHING from!

Gaming laptop for $1000? Good luck buddy. What you'll get for $1000, is a decent laptop. If you want a gaming laptop, I suggest saving alot more money.

I got an HP ZE4610us 2500 Barton, 40 gig hd, 256 meg mem(upgraded to 512 for $45) dvd/cdrw for $699 after rebate at circuit city. I ran 3dmark2001 and got about 4000, so warcraft3 would be iffy, but it does everything I need in a laptop (since I game mostly on my other 8 PC's)
