Best Gaming Devices?

Not including standard hardware: CPU, RAM, HDD, MoBo, Video card.

What's the best items out there? Me personally, I'm looking for an ergonomic joystick with low resistance (I have bad wrists). But I'd love to hear about all the stuff out there! 😀

Here's what I have so far: Logitech G25, Saitek X-52, Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2, Razer DeathAdder, Razer eXactMat & rest, Ageia Physx card, X-Fi XtremeGamer Fata1ty, P7800 (7.1 speakers), Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000, and a 19" CRT. (I loathe the lack of color vibrance on LCDs, when it comes to playing games.)

What about a big (56") DLP LED screen, are they comparable quality to CRTs?
Is it possible to get custom joysticks?
What are the best rudder pedals?
Are there other .. odd devices out there, such as eDimensional 3-D glasses (My nephew has these, they are a PAIN to get to work with most games), and TrackIR?
Is triplehead2go any good for gamers, because of the blank 2" you have between monitor to monitor?

Feel free to brag about what you're using!

Gamer-oriented mousepads? Well, if you're going down that road you may as well get a Killer NIC.

No because the mousepads marketed for gaming are better made than traditional pads. It's simple, give the surface a more flat and less resistant feel and you have better mouse control and movement.

While the Killer NIC isn't going to make your experience better (this has been proven) a nice mousepad with a smooth surface will.

razer exactmat is nice with the 2 sides, razer copperhead is a good light mouse, klipsche 2.1 ultra's, saitek eclipse is a good lighted keyboard with fast keys to press down on

I just don't understand what you do with it? 😕

KT

Oh, ok 🙂 It's a desktop gamepad that you can assign different functions to the keys, including macros. It also has has 3 shift states so you can have 4 functions assigned to 1 button, effectively quadrupling the number of buttons available. It's also very comfortable. I'd have a hard time gaming without one now, I consider it indispensable.

Logitech G5 Laser Mouse, or the MX 518 are better mice, and better for the hands, there's nothing special about Razer mice. 😉

G5

MX 518

Also a game mousepad doesn't give better control, or performance, it's just a personal preference is all.

ALOHA

"better"? what do you mean, they're not bettwe if you're a lefty, or play fast paced games...
razer mice are lighter and easier to flick aroud with your wrist... i've used both a g7 and copperhead to game for long periods of time and prefer the copperhead.

what "special" features do u need on a mouse? 15 buttons? 8 way scrool wheel? lol.

well a good mousepad is necessary if you're a gamer. you def don't play as well on bare surface as compared to a razer exactmat for example

I mean, the OP said he/she has bad wrists, the Logitech are more ergonomic.

My reply I said above is ---> "Ergonomic", which is the SPECIAL feature he/she needs, having bad wrists. 😉

I mentioned gaming mousepads, not a regular mousepad, because cmdrdredd said they are better then regular pads. All these supposedly SPECIAL gaming mousepads don't improve anything, it's just a personal preference is all.

Please Read Next time.
🙂

to the OP nothing will look as good as a good CRT for gaming, a DLP is obviously going to be a lot bigger, but if quality is #1 go with a Sony 24" Widescreen CRT, stunning picture that will LCD's may never catch up to 🙂

QueBert, I'm having a hard time finding that on google. Can you point me in the right direction?

Edit: My mistake. I put "samsung", thanks.

The monitor is 16:10 ratio. How will that play out in games? Most now are 16:9.

As for games, just about anything - but especially air combat.
WWII Online, Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, C&C games, Lock On: Modern Air Combat, etc.

so what is a better one

Unfortunately, the best one is no longer in production, Microsoft Sidewinder Precision 2. The next best looks to be Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.

Most games are 16:9 now? HDTV specs are 16:9, console games are now starting to use it, but 16:10 is common for widescreen monitors.

Razer copperhead, razer tarantula, and a 18"x12" mousepad!

That's exactly what I've got.

Although Tarantula + Death Adder might be the more up-to-date choice.
