When a decent game is out that works on mac and windows, i usually end up buying it through steam.

I've been using my air as a portable gaming laptop, and for the most part its decent. I have been playing TF2 at the lowest settings, and its decent, at native res its awful.

What other good/newer games are out for mac that are worth playing? And which are playable on the Air?

I have only played TF2 as far as new games go. How do games like portal 2, and other games like that run on the air, and are they worth buying?

I also am considering upgrading to the IVB version of the air when it comes out if it will make these borderline playable games more enjoyable.

these are the games i have now, most are super low spec indie games though. I havent tried some of the larger games yet.

The only game I play on my MBP is starcraft 2. Only because I can, not my preference as the gpu is very limited.

im guessing your MBP has about the same graphics performance as my air. Kinda why i wanted to start this thread, because i know if i try to play games that are out for osx, but are gpu intense - like borderlands, or dead space (think thats out for mac) they wont play well on my air.

Borderland does decent at low settings, actually.

StarCraft 2 should be perfectly playable at Low settings as long as you don't jack anything up to Medium. The game is more GPU-intensive than CPU-intensive.

If you are into point and click (Diablo-style), try Torchlight.

Needless to say, Portal games should work as well.

Aside from that, the App Store has a larger selection of games than Steam, and I'm sure about 90% of them should work on the Air.

Haven't played Torchlight on my Air in a long time, can't recall how well it worked. Civ5 works ok at low settings but native res. Outside of Civ5's native bugginess of course.

What I would like to see is more developers make things nice for the trackpad, because I hate hooking up a mouse to my Air.

I find Torchlight to be perfect on the 2010 Air. Not only does it run at native res (1440 x 900), I could easily max every setting out and even enable AntiAliasing.
