For fun with friends I play BF2, and Urban Terror *free game*.

I really enjoyed FEAR Single player, along with Doom 3, and Quake IV.

I hear nothing but good things about STALKER.

Oh Man, that single player storyline was awesome. Sucked me right in :). I need to check out the sequel to that game.

Don't get too hyped up, as the sequel isn't nearly as good. It's not a bad game either, but things like universal ammo and technical faults (long loading points, small maps, jerky animations, etc) hold it down. Still, if you can accept some faults it's more than worth the sub $10 prices you can find it for in bargain bins and online.

Chronicles of Riddick: EfBB
... it's only fault was that it was too short

DeusEx is too RPG to be called FPS ... but very good ...

... so if you're going to add DE, then add Vampire VtMB, Stalker and Oblivion :p

The two best FPShooters ever made were Deus Ex (the first one) and Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines (with the latest community patch applied after the official).

Both are available on steam and are inexpensive. VTMB was made by the ex Fallout people. Both are excellent and are easily in my top ten favorite games of all time.

Call of Duty was the best FPS I have ever played. I am partial to the WW2 genre though. I didn't care for COD2. I thought Deus Ex 2 was fun-ish, although there was something stale about it. The first one never really grabbed me

Arer we talking single player or multiplayer?

For single player I like Deus Ex, Half-Life 2, and Call of Duty 2.

For multiplayer I like Counterstrike: Source, and Call of Duty 2.

I also hear very good things about STALKER's single player.

Cheers,
KT

FarCry anyone?
COD 1 or 2 and I really enjoyed the Jedi Knight games. Throwing Storm troopers around with the force is too much fun.

Hells yes. Have to add Quake too. ;) Also, Enemy Territory: Quake Wars seems to be getting good pre-reviews from veteran ET members, and is coming out very soon.

Vampire the masquerade is hardly an FPS. It is a good game for sure, but not an FPS.

I was going to mention far cry. I recently just played it again with updated hardware. I think the last time i played it was on a 9800pro. Fired it up with a 7800GT on max settings... turn up the level of the game and it was still very fun playing through.
