I'm gonna have to go with a tie between Unreal Tournment and Starcraft. Age of Kings in a close 2nd/3rd. Gotta give System Shock 2 a try... only $10 Canadian at Futureshop!

I've played almost all FPS, Half-Life included. I liked it but i personally think UT is more fun, but HL is a more complete game. Gaming is all about fun though! Peace out.

Out of current games, I would have to say Starcraft and Halflife are towards the top. (Giants and Sacrifice are up there also). However, it is still one of my ALL-TIME-FAVORITE games, ableit a bit obsolete, is Civilization II. This game is addicting like you would never expect. It's like "just one more turn".

The games I continue to play are Half-Life (mods and level packs) and StarCraft.

Like most of us, I don't have a lot of time to play games, and there are MANY games I want to play, so I don't tend to play games more than once. I'm also not a big on-line gamer, so I place most of a game's value in its single player mode. The games I have the fondest memories of playing are System Shock 2, Half Life, Thief, and StarCraft. I also have to admit that the Resident Evil series is a guilty pleasure, but I've only played them on a PC.

Give me a deep, coherent, memorable story with great gameplay and mechanics over good multiplayer anyday :).

My favorite would have to be Sierra's Red Baron 3D. Even after 4 years it runs rings around Flight Sims like CFS2.
Next on my list would be Crimson Skies, closely followed by Shogun.

Many games are great. THe ones that really captured me are:

Final Fantasy 7
Baldurs Gate (I & II)
Planescape Torment (evem more than Baldurs Gate)
Deus Ex
Independence War
Freespace
Homeworld and Homeworld: Cataclysm (the first homworld BLEW ME AWAY)

I am sure there are many more that I can't remembe off the top of my head.

Right now I am playing Day of Defeat, a half-life mod. I used to play counter-strike alot, but this mod OWN'S CS. At first I didn't like it as much, but it grows on you quick. It is better and it is only the Second beta release. THey still only have half the classes! I would reccomend it to anyone who like Half-Life/CS.

UT is my opinion. I tried the Quake and thought it was too chaotic. UT is fun from the moment you start playing it cause you can start as a Novice and Still have fun. Trying to learn how to play quake is not easy. I don't want a game that I have to loose at for a month before I learn how to play.

Counter-Strike and Starcraft for me.

However, no one plays the original Starcraft (much better than BW) anymore.
