Best game console

The PS2
No, wait, the Gamecube!
No, the Xbox, cause it has lan!
But the Xbox is so big!
PS2!
Real gamers use a PC!
Gamecube has Mario! It's a me, Mario!
PS2. Final Fantasy XXI. Nuff said.
Halo Rules!!! Go Xbox
Get a PC! They're only $600 for the box, and $300 for a kick ass game card! Much better value! I play Doom 3 Alpha Omega 0.00001 version. I so l337!!!

i think if you are into online gaming, i'd go with xbox.

if not .. then go with the console that has your favorite games.

I like the Ps2.

However if you are going to start with a huge graphics debate...then dno't. They never end and in the end the PC is always superior no matter what.

But I like the Ps2 mainly b/c my 550mhz POS can't game woth a damn...

no such animal

i have the ps2 for variety
the gamecube for graphics
an ati 9700 for fun lol

soon an xbox will be added too

variety is the spice of life😛

xbox

coupled with live, it blows ps2 (before all the ps2 people yell at me, i do like a few games for the ps2 but i would probably never buy one) out of the water.

the only thing holding xbox back right now is the lack of games.

(and voice chat on a console rocks)

Ps2 has a network adaptor as well, so what makes the XBox networking and online gaming so much better?

From what I've heard, XBox Live massacres the competing product from Sony.

Xbox for the graphics (notice I did not say gameplay)
Gamecube for the gameplay (Mario, Zelda, and Metroid Prime are all worth it by itself)
PS2 for the quantity of games
PC for those of us into FPS (+raw graphics cannot be beat on a pc)
GBA for some quality games...most are ports from SNES (just bought the new Metroid, tho....its pretty cool) & portability (you will soon be able to play your GBA games on the Gamecube via an adapter....don't have to worry about straining your eyes

I have the all those but the PS2.....I'm very much into nice graphics and the PS2 is too dated for me. If I want bad graphics I'll play my SNES I still have!

That's why i stopped buying consoles... toooo many choices... some people still get all three... and then the new generations come out and you have 3 worthless toys... 🙁

PS2 - every game you play online is handled through the game developer. So, each of these companies can charge whatever they want, which is fine. But what if you played 4 different games from 4 different developers? You would have to creat 4 different accounts for the games and pay 4 different bills a month.

X-Box Live - 1 account, all games. Enough SAID.

Gamecube! Especially if you don't need something that doubles as a cheap DVD player that doesn't work as well as a real one. There are a whole lot of good games for Gamecube if you look around, and Zelda is coming in a few months. If you really want a console for online gaming (I use my PC for that) than maybe get an Xbox or PS2.

We all know the PC is the supreme gaming platform here though, don't we?

😉 😉

Jeez, this turns out to be like amd vs intel . Thanks everyone. I am going to get him a 21" monitor to go with the vid card i got for his bday.Alot less headaches.

Xbox live was a wise move by Microsoft IMHO

The real test for Xbox Live is next year when they begin to charge monthly. Anyone (including me) would pay 50 dollars to play with no lag, but the true test of keeping the average consumer is whether they are willing to pay 9.95 to 19.95 monthly for the service.

I personally don't think Mass consumerism of online gaming will be accepted for a while but with the raw power of Microsoft it will be interesting to see how things are played out.

Besides, they actually got people to upgrade from 98se to ME to XP all within the space of a few years.

And for the comment that the Xbox "blows" the Ps2 out of the water...yeah 😉 and you admitted it yourself - Xbox doesn't have that variety that can be found on the Ps2.

Btw, I'm VERY sorry if I play my games, not my consoles.
