Best FTP server software?

I use bulletproof ftp server, but it works then it doesnt. My belkin router is complicated, its probably the router but maybe a new software will help. Yes port 21 and 20 are open.

I've been using War FTP Daemon for quite some time now and I like it, and it's freeware. I haven't used any other freeware FTP programs so I don't know how it compares to the other solutions out there.

I've been using BPFTP server here w/o probs...it's probably the firewall on your router. I had some trouble w/ the dlink router prioritizing it's no FTP ports over dmz host at first.

Other than that, what others said...filezilla. Certainly worth a try to verify if it IS your router...since if it is, there's no reason to stop using Bulletproof 😉

its the router
I changed nothing... and now i cant get a ftp server going... it worked before? Im Stumped?

Profptd is the best IMO, however, you don't want to run it unless you have several hours to set it up. Also, its pretty overkill for a little home FTP site.

EDIT: If you do not have a unix or linux server to run your ftpd off of, I always had good luck with ServU in windows ... but I haven't used it in a long time so I don't know how it compares to the current competition
