The day started slow; work was dull. I drank a cup of coffee each hour to see if I would get sick before the day ended, but I didn't get sick. I arrived home some time after 6pm which is a tad later than usual. I had subway on the way home, so I wasn't particularly hungry. All I wanted to do was curl up and read a good book.
There was a reaction in my book that looked interesting, so I wanted to see if it worked. I quickly wrote down everything I needed, then I headed the hardware store.
I was able to find most of the stuff I wanted, but I couldn't find red phosphorus anywhere. The guys at Home Depot had no idea what that was. I ended up googling it, and it was surprising how many search results it had.
Apparently red phosphorus is the red tip of strike anywhere matches. I got a box from the local 7-11 then I got all geared up for the experiment. Always wear your PPE when working alone because there's nobody to help call 911 when it blows up in your face.
The initial phase of the chemical reaction was supposed to take a few hours, so I invited some friends over. What I love about my friends is how diverse they are. We each have our own thing, so there's always something to do.
I have a bit of a medical condition that requires me to be on blood thinners, so I sometimes get nose bleeds. It's not a big deal, but it always freaks people out a lot more than it should. It's just blood. It's not the end of the world.
There were a few fuzzy hours that I can't really remember, but I met a nice girl along the way. She's a whole lot of woman, and she knows how to work it. This might be true love.
I remembered that I left a 6" Italian BMT in the fridge, so I'm eating that right now. It's delicious. This night was perfect.
