Eraser rules. Very robust, and totally freeware. The Explorer shell integration is quite useful.

Or how about cipher /W:C:\, where C: is the drive (pick whatever drive you want). Fills the free space on the drive with EFS-encrypted junk data three times and then deletes it all. Featured on Win2000/XP variants.

how exactly do you use it?

i can select teh C drive but then it says all data will be erased, will that delete the whole drive?

cause that would be a bad thing

PGP is free for noncommercial use. Plus it has a number of other options beyond wiping (eg. encrypting).
