Best free spam filter?

My dad needs a easy to use spam filter. He uses Outlook Express and we have a comcast POP3 email service. Any ideas, preferably free?

I've just been reading posts here for the last few minutes, should I have him switch to thunderbird?

I've been using mailwasher pro. It takes a short amount of time to setup, and always runs in the background. Overall, I like it and I'd recommend it to somebody else, just like they did to me on ATOT.
