I need to record a video (with audio) from a webcam that supports 1920 x 1080

What software can I use for that?

If you don't tell us with what exactly you're having trouble you won't get any answers, ain't nobody gonna write you an tutorial for start to finish setup, there are enough of those on the net.

Well, just to start off, its presented as a streaming software, not a webcam recorder. There isnt enough options to set use this or that codec, at this resolution, use this video source but use this other audio source, etc.

Im looking for something a lot more simpler or at least more geared to webcam recording.

Right click on scene and add a new one, right click on Sources (give a name) and go to add and choose video capture device, at the top most is a box that says device ,your webcam should show up there.
It has quicksync,if you have an intel that's a very nice option since it uses next to no CPU power.

Basically you answered nothing of any of the doubts I have.

Wow.

Wow.

How do you figure? Looks like explicit directions on using the software to record from webcam. If someone has failed here, it's the person that hasn't explained the problem clearly.

Wow.

Looks like he explained in two minutes how to use software you asked about two months ago.

The problem is on your end not his. This is typical for you.

So he explained how to use a different codec.
He explained how to set a resolution
He explained how to mix a different video and audio source.

Yup. English is not the first language of most members here. Confirmed

Yes I did...
The window where you can choose your video device also let's you choose a custom resolution and the sound source you prefer.
It can't be missed,if you would have checked it out you would have known.
OBS has support for only 3 codecs and that's it,but they are all variations on h264 which is the most common and most useful one.
If you want a certain codec than tell us which one it is.

The resolution part I figured out on my own before you told me. I was just pointing it out that you didnt say anything about it.
I apoligize because maybe I wasnt clear on what I ment exactly by mixing video/audio sources. Lets say I want to record a video and mix it with a prerecorded MP3. Something like that.
Codec I do not see where to change. I dont like though that you say is limited to just 3. I should be able to choose which ever I want. Requireing DirectX, I would think that I should be able to choose whichever I want....
