After my free AVS ran out I got McAfee security center because it was free and I was too lazy to see if there was anything better.

I don't know if it's a system hog. Is it?
Anything better I should install?

I don't really care if the program doesn't offer as many features and stuff as the others. I don't need the super fully featured program that will protect me even from the weirdest porn sites, I just need something that's light and will protect me from a little bit weird sites, if you know what I mean.

By program do you mean a AV or suite. Norton & McAfee are the biggest resource hogs, especially their Suites.
There are many freeware combination opinions & many forums that have covered the subject.
I have AVG free AV, Spyware Blaster, Windows Defender (for realtime protection), & several antispyware manual scanners. Threatfire is new & could be good or Spyware Terminator instead of Windows Defender.

I think McAfee Site Adviser is a great program if it is to your liking.
Install after using the McAfee removal tool from their site. (or reinstall)

Non-administrator user accounts are free (or permanently paid for, anyway), don't use any additional system resources at all, and are a very effective baseline to build your security strategy on. how to switch to non-Admin and other security tweaks.
