Best Free Forum's

I need forums for a site, which are the best free forums right now that i could possibely pay for later if i wanted with out the ads ans extra features and still be good??

also is anything better for free website hosting than geocities(i like getting the matching email and the good upgrade plan possibely in the future)

Do you have a domain and web hosting account? Yes this costs money, around $30/yr. If you do, you can install your own free forums without any ads.

If you're a total cheap ass and want everything for free, it can be done but it's not pretty. You'll probably get a subdomain for the site and long ugly URL for the forums. Don't forget about the ads and pop-ups

If you can afford $30/yr for a domain and web hosting, I would go this route.

Buy a domain and web hosting it's 100x better than any other "free solution".

My vote goes for Simple Machines Forum (SMF). I use it for two clan forums. I have never *EVER* seen a forum application that is easier to install, easier to update, or easier to mod. Wan the latest update? Go to your forum, log in as admin, go to the update section, click the "download" button and the page refreshes with an "install" button. Bam. You're done.

Same goes for mods. Mod list retrieval, searching/browsing, download, and installation is all built in and automated. It's the best forum I've ever seen.
