Best free cd/dvd burning software

I've downloaded CDBurderXP and am looking at others. CDBurderXP doesn't look like it has that many dvd burning options.

What would you say is the best in your opinion?

I've been using StarBurn for a while now without problems, maybe take a look at that one. It also has a "Portable" version without the need to install.

IMGburn, hands-down. It has a nice little wizard that more or less "guides" you to the exact options you need for your burn. It's always been very stable for me too, which is a big plus.

Imgburn is the best free burning software out there IMO.
I also have an old copy of Nero 7 Ultra to burn my music and pics. I'd like to upgrade the Nero but their prices are outrageous!

Glad this post is here! I was coming to ask what the best free replacement for Nero is. So far I've tried

Imgburn - Way too simple and doesn't have very many features. To create a copy of a disc I have to make an ISO, then start another job to copy the disc. You can't just do a copy to copy of a disc with one button.

CDBurnerXP - You cannot create multiple copies of a single disc. It doesn't allow you to select the number of disc you want to burn. So if I need to make 10 copies of a disc, I have to clip that button 10 times and fool with creating a job.

InfraRecorder - Using the same DVD that I used for Imgburn and CDBurnerXP, it failed to "create a copy" because it says it cannot read the TOC header?? None of the other programs had any issue with the DVD. Plus, it cannot create multiple copies of a disc.

I do video production and I was just looking for a free tool that I could thrown on another laptop I'm using right now instead of loading Nero. Making multiple copies of DVDs is something I do a lot of and I can't lose that functionality. I was surprised all these free tools suck at it so bad. Nero you just say copy and how many disc - it makes a temp folder and just prompts you when to put a new DVD in.

I like Nero, but it is bloated and I have only install the burning tool from the entire package of crap it wants to install! I need something that handles DVD copying well, as well as creating audio CDs and video DVDs.

Any other suggestions?

EDIT: ashampoo Burning Studio 6 may just fit the bill. trying it out now for a job.
