Best format to use for allofmp3?

See title, they have so many options and I haven't been up with the different forms of encoding in a looong time, what's the best bang for the buck? (not very many have LAME available, and it's 2x the cost :Q)

I got some songs in OGG @ the highest bitrate (around 400) but I can still hear the results of compression. One song I got from itunes (which I thought was supposed to sound terrible), but it's better than my allofmp3 OGG song. And I did select the cd-da option to encode directly from the source cd.

Thanks for any help.

OK, not sure if this will apply for you or not, but I encode all my songs in MP3Pro. At a 96k bitrate, it's almost indistinguishible from the original.

Thanks for the response, but I'm mainly looking for which format is the best to use. I'll keep that in mind if I rip cds though.
