I´m upgrading my old system, a P2 350@434, running stable with "no name" PC-100 on my
Abit BH6.

Keeping my BX mobo and add a slotket and a kickass HSF.

??Processor??

Next Q:
Is it possible to go above 1Ghz with my config. and a celeron?

Tanks /Inexperienced o/c er.

Currently alot of people are having good luck with Onvia's 633 CPUs running at 950. Search on hot deals forum for additional information.
Chances of hitting 1 gig are poor without water cooling/peltiers.

the new 700 and 733's are stepping CC0. more likely to hit the magic number of 1000.

I've got a 633 with a msi6905 and gorb sitting in a box. maybe i oughta trade it. works great at 950. probably would go higher at 1.9V and a better motherboard (i had cheap clone mobo).

Maybe i'll sell it.

the Duron @ 950 is about 10% faster than the celeron @ 950 but being able to run the memory at pc-133 gives probably another 10% of speed in my eyes.

The cost of the duron @950 (most dont run at 950 rock solid) , the mobo, the vantec cooler, and the pc-133 ram, may not justify a 20% increase in speed over the cheapness of a celeron bx board, pc-100 ram, celeron 633 which will run at 950 with retail fan, etc.

I like the extra speed from the duron, but i spent a lot of money to get it. time to sell my 950 celeron to pay off my CC's
:)
