Best for gaming: PC or console?

By the time I upgrade my PC with a decent graphics card, I could probably buy a PS2 or XBOX. Or I could get a Dreamcast and a bunch of games. What to do, what to do...

what kind of games do you like..
sports games.. get a console..
if its First person shooters get a computer..

my vote would be for the computer, i have a PS2 and never use it.

What kind of games do you like?

FPS, RTS, some RPGs are all better on the PC. If you want multiplayer, it's PC or Xbox (ps2 and gc will have adapters, but games supporting them may be few and far between).

Sports games are almost always better on the console, as are fighters. Arcade style gameplay is more suited to the console. Two player games (where you're actually sitting next to your opponent) are more fun on a console.

PC Games are sometimes cheaper then console games, because pc game companies aren't helping pay the losses on the console.

pick up a dc and a pc 🙂thats quite alot of gaming goodness for cheap.
i have a ps2 and i love it...but for 79.99 the dc is the best system for the $$$$ hands down.

MrBond - brings up some good ideas in his post. It's not a matter of what others think when it comes to deciding which is better for gaming (pc v. console) it's based on personal preferences. Because I personally love playing video games on a console... however you may love to play it on a personal computer w/ a mouse and keyboard. True some consoles such as the DC have both the mouse and the keyboard, but nonetheless, there are always people who argue that it's just not the same. But then again, it's just their personal taste. So whatever floats your boat is what you should be doing. Some people just go ahead and get both a PC upgrade and a console so that they would have a chance to play all the great games that come out on each - if you have the dinero to spare, then this would be the ideal situation 😉

i like consoles better because i love console rpgs. and i believe diablo to be the worst game ever made. only games i play on pc are rts and some civilization type games. also more games are released for consoles. pcs are more trouble to with patchess and upgrades and such. plus i like multiplayer on the console better since the guy ur playing is usually sitting beside you. '

not to mention the fact that the biggest games are all on consoles, since millions more play consoles.

Skip the PS2. Get a Dreamcast for $80 and you'll never get that cr*p feeling you've spent a lot of money on something worthless.

vegetation, the PS2 library is steadily improving...im glad i bought one,if for nothing other than gt3 really right now.i also have twisted metal black and zoe, both are pretty cool.
Im sorry i ever got rid of my dc,but will pick up another one next week perhaps.
