I'm filling a data grid in my vb app.
What is the best font to use to get the most information in a small space while keeping it readable?

arial. straight and crisp. doesn't have unnecessary tails like Times New Roman does.

my resume is in arial 8pt

[edit]
what font do you see NOW? that's my point 😉

So far, I've been looking at
MS Sans Serif
Arial
Tahoma
Verdana

all in 8 point.
Arial takes up the least space but seems a little less readable than the others.

OK, I know you are all waiting with great anticipation to see what the final decision is so,
Tahoma it is.

Verdana and MS Sans Serif both take up too much space even at 8pt.
Arial is the smallest.
But Tahoma takes up only slightly more space than Arial and is a little easier to read. Especially when there are decimal values.
