Best floor lamp?

For a room with no built-in lighting, what's a good place (or brand) to buy lamps from?

Ikea has a a great selection.

Target works too, not as big of a selection though.

I would go for a bright Torchiere lamp pointed at the ceiling so the light reflects and lights up the whole room.

i have a lamp like that in my bedroom. It provides a great deal of light. Can read by it and it is not even close to the bed.

I just use cheap target floor lamps in my rooms without ceiling lights.
I tend to favor the ones that are about 6ish feet tall with a 3 way bulb in the main fixture, and then a secondary arm with a 60 watt equivalent ....

Don't buy the touch control type at wal-mart. I had one and the controller literally melted within a few months of use. Ended up removing the controller, splicing the line, and adding an inline rocker switch to turn the lamp on and off.
