I'm looking for a good flatscreen monitor to save some space. (17" screen or larger)

What are some good ones to consider, what resolutions do they offer, and how much do they cost?

Thanks for any help

Peter

I'm looking for an LCD flat panel.

I don't know much about any new TFT technology, or prices, and if it's worth the cost.

If anyone could provide some good links to articles or whatever, that'd be great.

Thank you.

Try this site: itreviews. They do a lot of flat panel reviews.

Also search cnet.com and zdnet.com

I think Samsung monitors look great. But supposedly Eizo monitors are nice as well. Finally iIyama monitors are supposed to be pretty good too.

One thing you want to look for is the DVI input for the LCD monitors. The DVI interface provides a better picture and hassle-free setup. However, there are some confusing standards right now which I'm trying to figure out myself. Good luck in your monitor hunt.

i have the dell 1701FP 17". very nice, 0.264 dot pitch, it's crisper than my old viewsonic 17ga. costs $949 on dell.com, available on ebay for around (new) $700-$750. has both digital and analog outputs.

I've seen the Samsungs in person, and they're pretty good. Also, if you have an infinite amount of money, go for the Apple 22" Cinema display. One of the nicest FP's I've ever seen, and it can be modded to work on a PC :)
