Best flash based MP3 player? With Poll

I am in the market for an MP3 player. I don't need a ton of storgae, 512MB-1GB would probablly be plenty for me, especially since I tend to listen to some songs for a few months then get board with them. Plus I will be using this at work and while excersizing, so I think flash based is best for me.

My main wants are, small, it is a must that this fit in my jeans pocket without being too noticable, FM tuner is also a want in case I get board with my MP3's. Voice recording is also nice. I would also prefer to have it be recognized as a removable drive in windows XP, but this isn't my top priority. I know the creative does this, and I think with new firmware the Iriver can, not sure about the iAudio.

I know there are many other posts about this and I have read many of them, but don't really remember seeing any polls, and there never seemed to be a clear winner. I know everyone has differant needs and opinions, but I am asking again, if you don't like it, don't reply, LOL.

I am also inclduing an "other" option in the poll, but please if you choose the "other" option, please reply with what your other choice is, and why you think its best?

If everyone chooses the other option or replies with get an Ipod/Ipod mini/Ipod Shuffle you better have good reason for it. I understand the Ipods are great, but I don't think the hard drive players are right for me, and I just don't see the benefit to the Ipod shuffle, other then the price.

512MB player. ebay. cheap. $60US. works. one AAA battery. over 48 hours playback. light. usb disk drive. some are usb2.0. voice recording. removable drive in XP.

it does everything you need and is cheap. end of story.

I'm a big Iriver fan...not only a great product, but great customer service as well. I had a button go funny on my MP3 player, mailed it back to em and within 2 weeks, had a new one, and a newer model.

D@mn you, LOL. I would consider the shuffle, I just don't see much benefit to it over other players. And it has a big negative of no screen. If you already have a big ACC collection then it would be good, but I don't, so that doesn't help me much.

How are the samsungs on reliability, ease of use and stuff like that? And any idea on its specifications?

I don't care, it's the one I want. 😛

Why exactly do you want it. I must admit I haven't done a lot of research on it, so it may be better then I think. But from what I do know it doesn't seem to be the best for my case. But let me know why you want it.

Correct. The battery life is amazing, longer than an Ipod. I used to have a 4th gen one too.

Weeks on end. Hahahaha.. also lighter than an Ipod. Just buy the mp3 from ebay and you'll be fine.

Also after reading about some of the ebay samsungs for sale, is the FM radio somehow integrate dinto the headphone? They make it sound like that, so does that mean you can't use the FM radio with differant headphones?

Don't know about this unit, but with many the headphone wire doubles as an aerial.

anyone ever order the samsung from ebay?? they all ship from Hong Kong, so I'm kind of reluctant, but I guess it's OK.
