Best Firewire Card

Can anybody recommend the best firewire add-on card for someone who wants to do some video capturing for home use from a digital camcorder? What software should they get for that? Thanks

There are lot's of choices out there and many come with Ulead Video Editing studio....higher end cards come with Pinnacle which is even better.

You can get 2/3 port cards with no software from about £12 here in the UK.

i just got the adaptec fireconnect 4300 from compusa. you can get most for around the $30 area. they're mostly all good.
