Best external slim DVD writer?

I'm looking for a slim writer for my C-60 netbook. I was looking at the Samsung SE-S084D and LG GP08NU6B, or maybe the LG LGEGP008. Which is best choice? Or is there a better one?

I have the Plextor PX-L611U. Very nice finish, come with a pouch. Has the bigger USB plug than the mini B connector. Seem to be more reliable than some of the slim DVD burners I deal with at work.

Thank you. I wonder why Amazon doesn't sell these? Only on amazon by tigerdirect.
Do you know anything about the PX-608CU? Also, not listed on Amazon at all. 🙁

Also have you tried Samsung, LG, or Asus?

Never heard of the PX-608CU. From the pic, it's kind of ugly. Never used Samsung, LG or Asus but came across Iomega and Targus. The Plextor is the best slim DVD I have ever use.

So you were just telling me the drive you have instead of answering the questions?

Why would you expect someone here to know what the ' best ' is ?

Most of these drives probably have a mechanism that is made by the same manufacturer .

So it boils down to what someone has, and whether it works well or not ..

Its an outdated technology... They should all be fairly similar. They have had a long time to perfect the dvd burning tech. 😛 I wouldnt worry too much. Pick which one you like better or has better warranty/tech support.

I did answer your questions. You may have not liked the answers or thought them incomplete, but they were answered none the less.

It's less than $25... Just pull the trigger and move on.
