Best ending to the English Pemier League ever!!!

Qpr probably got paid a lot in the last 5min to throw the game like that, so fake

Would have to be a whole lot, like all the millions they would lose from getting relegated if the other game which was going on didn't go the right way for them.

I remember the commentator at the 80th min going "How are City going to find the strength to get up and go to work tomorrow? How are they ever going to pull themselves up from this?"

ROFL

One of the greatest moments in football history. Although i'm feeling dejected being a united fan, City thoroughly deserved it as they've been consistent the entire season.
Also, well played QPR. Holding onto a rampant city with 10 men for that long a period must've been hell.

That was a great season. I can't believe United fell apart like that at the end. Over the last few seasons they've been very good at finishing it off but not this time. I think Mancini should send a fruitcake to Wigan; like Balotelli or something.

The champions league final should be great too. I'm hoping Chelsea loses so Spurs get that final spot. They were great to watch in the champion's league 😀

I randomly turned it on with 10min left.
It wasn't until they scored the second goal that I realized it was LIVE.

The opposing team looked very soft those last 10min.
They barely even got the ball out of their half.

That last goal was awesome though. Sliding pass and a great effort by the striker.

. Manchester United players and fans are probably crying right now.

Nah most of us United fans didnt even think we should be as high in the table as we were. We had a young, inexperience, and rough team all season. Most had given up on the title or more let it go after the City-Newcastle game anyways. This still compares nothing to the 1999 CL Final for Bayern fans 🙂

Im honestly getting tired of listening to games with commentators. They do that crap all game. During the first half its all about how City will win. Then after a goal its how QPR needs to defend or be blown out. Then after QPR score its all about how City are going to lose it. Was so annoying to listen to.

Still great job to QPR. 90 minutes of defending and scoring on the counter...a lot of it with 10 men too is quite a feat. Just ran out of steam at the very end.

City deserved the title for the way they have played the entire year. United was mediocre by their own standards yet but for the derby destruction, they may have won it again.
As YAUF I now know how Bayren fans must have felt but this is where SAF shines by putting together a team for long-term dominance. It was a rough rebuilding year and major injuries took a toll on the defense. It's a wake-up call but over the last few years it has always been United with challenges from Arsenal, Liverpool, and Chelsea.

So I'm not a follower of Premier League but I did see this game and thoroughly enjoyed it, but what exactly is the title they won here? I'm confused because in other sports (American football, basketball, hockey) you only win the "title" when the two remaining top teams play for it. What kind of title was won here?

no 'playoffs' just a 38 game home/away season. both Manchester teams tied for 'points' but City won on goal difference. there are domestic and european tournaments through out the season.

The Barclay's English Premier League was won by Manchester City.

Each team plays 38 matches and the team that come out with the most points wins. If the teams have the same amount of points then the team with the higher goal difference is placed higher on the table.

Manchester City won the Premier League on goal difference.

Each team plays a 38-game season and the winner wins the Premier League title. Points are determined by wins (3pts), draw (1pt) and a loss (0 pts). The bottom 3 teams are relegated and they drop down to the Championship, which is the second tier of English football.

Think of the NBA season ending after each team played each other at home and away and the winner being crowned the champion. That's essentially how it works. Frankly, I think it's more fair then having an 8-seed beating a 1 seed because their star player happened to be injured at the wrong time 😛

It's surprising how well United did considering their rather obvious gaps in certain positions. Rio has looked more old than experienced this season and having Vidic out probably cost them the title. Evans is mediocre at best and every time I see Smalling play he's the worst player on the pitch. Utd also needs a midfielder capable of pulling strings and pushing the team forward so Rooney can get back to playing striker as well. Their wide players are great but it's at the heart of defense and that midfield where Utd. needs a lot of work. For a transition season they've done very well, though

It's also exciting that every team is playing on the last day of the season. Lots of stories are unfolding all at the same time, and the outcome of one game might very well determine the fate of another team. You've got teams playing for the league championship, teams playing for qualification in the Champions and Europa league, teams trying to avoid relegation - yestrerday was the perfect example of why it is awesome the way it is.
