I own a domain name for our company, and right now we're using Dixiesys for webhosting and email services. However the email is painfully slow and unreliable.

What companies offer GOOD, FAST, RELIABLE email hosting through my own domain?

How many clients ? (max concurrent connections)

What kind of access must you provide ? (HTTP, POP, IMAP, etc.)

I think everyone.net has an e-mail service which is what you're looking for but it isn't free.

I've heard a lot of Dixiesys problems recently, I'm closing all my remaining accounts and relocating to another more reliable webhost.

We have 4 people max who would be checking email. Small business.

Support for larger attachments would be nice. POP and HTTP would be necessary, IMAP would be a very very nice bonus.

Like I said, SPEED and RELIABILITY are the most important factors.

Are your clients remote , local, or both ? (Do they need high level access at the office AND at home)

Both, which is why I would like to set up IMAP.

I guess as an I.T. proffessional I am partial to managing my own systems. If I were you I would be looking into a very small, in-expensive, server (Linux, BSD, whatever) to host your e-mail server.

Locally your clients will have wonderful bandwidth, and with only 4 - 10 users you can get away with minmul bandwith purchase to accomodate their remote needs.

Is this a solution you can provide ?

Did you get the email that they are moving their servers from AL to Atlanta? I am moving my account to another webhost as well. Their Ensim interface sucks, I haven't been able to check my site stats since the month i got their service. Sucks when you can't tell how much space and bandwidth you are using. They went down hill.

Well we do have a static IP, but I know nothing about linux or setting up and managing my own server. i'd much rather pay a company to do the managing instead so I don't get blamed if something goes wrong. :)

kermalou - No one can really compare to Dixiesys's old low end resellers plan that was a great deal esp with their 2 for 1 promo.

I have the perfection solution but it costs $13.50/mo can you afford $3.50/mo more?

2GB webspace, 30GB bandwidth, WHM (Webhosting Manager create as many cPanel domain hosting accounts as you want), cPanel, FTP, webmail, MySQL, PHP, etc.

Yep.

I'm not sure when my server14 will be moving (the e-mail is at home) but I hope to have both sites moved by the end of the week to MaxMatrix.com

Well if you want something easy to use and setup I recommend looking into running a Win2k OS. Then run IMAIL. It is really easy to setup and it supports everything you want. IMAIL is the easiest piece of software to setup.
