I am looking for an email client besides netscape, and most likely not Outlook Express.

I am trying to find something that does not interpret vbscript/macros like outlook does to prevent virus's.

I also would like something that can import Netscape Mail Folders.

Any Suggestions?

Eudora 5.0 is very cool, free, and the ad icon doesn't really bother me. I had some issues going from Outlook to it but now I really like Eudora over any other program/client.

I use a program called calypso, been using it for years in various flavors of windows and it's always worked like a charm.

I prefer Outlook Express

But find it very annoying that it doesnt minimize to the System Tray
like Netscape Messenger does...

Anyone know how to get it to do that?

Eudora 5.02 AVOID OE as it is the most insecure email client out there, its ok if you don't mind the odd virus or two.

Eudora is free if you put up with a little ad on the side of the window.

would you be interested in an email notification utility too ?
in addition to your choice of email client, a notification tool
can screen for suspicious or bloated mails at the server level,
saving you the grief of downloading them unknowingly.

free email client and small notification utility in one:
fox mail

another vote for The Bat!
I have used many email clients and once you try The Bat!, man, no way you're going back!!

Full control of everything! More features than any client I know of and can be as simple or complex as you like. I'm leaning towards the simple side myself.

Easily handly multiple, and I mean multiple, POP address. I'm managing 3 myself but one could manage almost an infinite amount.

try it out, they have a trial and you'll see the power.

I've used Calypso, Outlook, Messenger, Postman, Becky, TheBat!, Mulberry, Pegasus, Eudora Pro, and about 5-10 others I can't remember right now.

For a single account, Messenger is best.

For multiple accounts, nothing can touch TheBat! TheBat! isn't perfect though, it has a backasswards editor. I guess some people like it, but I hate the damn thing.

I'm hoping the eventual Mozilla final release will be as good as Messenger, and be able to handle multiple accounts. The beta releases look good and promising, but they are just too slow for real use yet.

eudora 5.02 has three versions, the pro which you pay for...pro with ads which is free, and light which has no ads and less features, i use the light mode...just download the program and try it out...you can switch between the different modes...to see if you really need the extra features, if not then just use light mode which gives you basic email functions...

I'm also on the hunt for an e-mail client. I know nothing about them, except that I don't want anything from Microsoft. I'd like to filter out mail from "unknown" addresses also.
Calypso got a very good review here. Anyone else using it? Is the filtering good?
