My jaw line is really defined and it is a real PITA to get underneath sometimes. Anyone have a problem like this with their 8585? I'd like to possibly check this out

Anyone know of any B&M stores that sell cheap electric shavers, in case I need to return it?

Kohls/Walmart/Target has some. Picked up a Braun 75xx a little over 2 years ago (pretty cheap too). Still in excellent operating condition.

Updated the OP with the following:

I bought the Braun 360 at Best Buy for ~$170. More expensive than Amazon, but also easier to return it if I'm not happy.

After the first run, I was pleasantly surprised. Shaving was very quick, the trimmer came in handy cause I had a long beard, and the end result was very smooth. There were a few spots I had trouble with just under my jaw and around my neck, but I think for the first run, it went very well.

Thanks for advice folks 🙂

I'm just wondering if any of you guys recommending other shavers have used the panasonic linear wet/drys yet?

Here is my recommendation.

Satisfaction gauranteed (through costco)

100 bucks from costco

80 from amazon

EDIT: To answer your other question regarding trimming, I don't have enough facial hair to really deal with that, but to get a cleaner line on my sideburns, the panasonic has a little attachment built into the back of the razor that will take care of that.

i have never had a problem with my 2 remington t200/t300 titanium foil shavers

Frys has a panasonic for 20$..might get that next just because ti is panasonic

I've had a couple Norelcos and have been very happy with both of them. My current one is their 'Cool Skin" line which can be use din the shower. Takes 5 seconds to clean it after use by just flipping up the top and rinsing it off. Also has the gel stuff built in so you can dispense it as you shave.

anyone have issues with razor burn with any of them? I've had a remmington electric shaver that is pretty crappy and gives me wicked razor burn.

This is one of the reasons for a razor with wet capability -- the shaving foam (or even just water) is a lubricant, and is easier on your skin than shaving when dry.

I have one of the fancier older Braun's which has been sitting under my sink unused for the last couple of years. I agree that dry, it's a better razor than my old Panasonic. However, I prefer shaving with foam, and I prefer the quick and easy cleanup that can be done with wet-capable razors such as the Panasonic over even the auto-cleaning functionality of the Braun.

Never had any luck with good shaves from an electric shaver. The hair on my neck does not grow straight out of my neck so by the time an electric shaver has finally cut all the hair my face is raw. I stick to a Mach 3 and its the best option for me.

Panasonic wet/dry. Used wet with foam for close shave without abrasion. Washes up easily with soap and water.

I have been pleasantly surprised with mine. I've had it for 7 years now! yes, 7. use it either every day or every other day. no problems, no changing blades. and my growth is extensive (after 2 days, i need to trim before i shave)
