I'm needing to get a program that allows me to fax through the phone line (plugged in to a standard modem in my PC) directly from my computer.

I've been using the prog that came with my dying printer and it needs the printer to send efaxes.

Since my computer (XP Pro) has an internal modem, I should be able to find an efax program to enable faxing direct from my PC.

If anybody happens to know of a good program for this, please let me know.

Well there's Snappy Fax

I use it because it's cheap ($30) and does broadcast faxing. I'm running it on Vista BTW, but XP works too.
It could be more user friendly though and appears to be a work in progress. While it's good that Snappy Fax is being actively developed and updated, it had plenty of glitches like totals not being reset and buttons not being enabled when they should. A lot of that stuff has probably been fixed since I last used the program, considering all the new versions released.

It'll install a fax printer so you can print your document to that for faxing. Also SF can open Word or Excel files and convert them to a faxable image. It accepts scanned documents too. An address book and cover page designer are also included.
