Best & Easiest To Use Parental LOCK Software

As the title states, I need something simple yet effective to use on computers... what's out there? Anything free? The SBC program sucks I must say..

The computers that I need this for are running the SBC Yahoo! software. Basically, I need to be able to restrict certain users from accessing pornography and other obscene content. I want to be able to select which users can do what. Will the above do this? Or any program..?

well not the answer for everyone but i've started using the content advisor in the internet properties for I.E.
i enabled it for everything and as my kids need to get places for homework or whatever i unlock those sites , tell it to remember access to those sites and thats all they can get to. it's password locked and doesn't let anything thru that you don't let it. its also easy to disable with the password if your on the comp. some might see it as a pain , having to unlock stuff at times , but i always know what sites they'er at. i've tryed filtering software and it's to easy for stuff to slip through.

I might have to give that a try... like I said, I basically need to be able to filter things and then also be able to turn them off... I was looking for a programthat would do this, but if no one knows of one, then maybe this IE content advisor may work

yup....
i tryed a couple that i had to pay for and found then totaly inadaquet. decided i just had to invest the time to manually allow sites for the kids and if i'm not around they can't get online.

Well, it's not exactly free...

But I've been reasonably happy with Norton Internet Security. Parental controls are now a standard feature (in the 2003 version), and you can define different levels of access restrictions for different XP accounts. Access restrictions rely on lists of sites by their classification and these lists have to be updated regularly (and loaded the first time anything touches the internet after booting). You have to plan on yearly upgrades (or subscription renewals) that I've found can be had for about $20/year by watching for deals. It also includes a firewall and anti-virus which are pretty much required these days too.
