Best / easiest software for rotating videos?

My wife took a load of videos while we were on holiday, but some need rotating. According to VLC, the video format is MJPG and the audio is 'PCM U8 (araw)'.

If I try rotating the videos in Picasa, it saves them as WMV and alters the sound in an odd way.

Freemake can rotate and convert to many formats. I'm not sure if its the best option, but it says it can do it.

I can't get my wife to hole the camera the right way either!

Windows Movie Maker can rotate. I'm not the best with formats so here is a list of the file types. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-live/movie-maker-file-types-faq

If you grab Freemake be sure to untick anything extra it wants to install.

@ balloonshark, yep, Freemake's home page gave me that sort of vibe without me actually reading that, but a confirmation is helpful thanks 🙂

I'm surprised that there haven't been more responses because I would have thought that this is a pretty common requirement.

I'll probably try WMM.

I'm new to WMM. After looking around WMM a bit it looks like you can only save the files as MPEG-4/H.264 Video File (*.MP4) or as Windows Media Video File (*wmv). You can use a custom setting to define the width, height, bit rate, frame rate and Audio format (kbps).

I did try rotating an mp4 video of mine and re-saving it and the new file worked fine. The rotating feature is under the home tab.

What is she using that produces that type of video? Why doesnt it just output H.264 in a mp4 like everything else out there?

Canon Powershot A640. I see a review online for it dated 2006.

WMM seems to be working OK for me.
