Best/Easiest MP3 Tag Maker?

Ok,

I am lazy, I wanna know if there is any programs out there that will just search my mp3s and rename them properly and slap tags on them, or is that asking much? 🙂 I have been a bit sloppy and i would love to get them all ordered up and really don't want to spend hours going through it song by song.

Anyone have favorite programs to do this or can point me to something?

Repost. Look for my post about removing ID3 tags. You'll find it there.

I'd give you the direct link, but it's too late and I'm too tired.

Already grabbed Tag&Rename...but my problem is pretty much all my MP3s don't have ID tags at all. Was just curious if there is an "auto search/generate" feature that will search all my mp3s and just add that info for me.

Guess it is a rather mind reading request. Guess I got alot of work ahead.

Tag&Rename will do that.

Are your MP3's named: [Artist] - [Title].mp3?

if so, it's very easy.

im a big fan of ID3-Tagit. it lets you do filename -> id3 tag or vice versa, and is good for working on multiple files at once (v1 and v2)

I agree, I've tried countless tagging programs, and ID3-tagit is by far the best.

Some are, some are not...mostly a miss match of song title artist with ( { or other characters tossed in at some points.

Well, i guess I will try to play with the program a bit to see what i can get it to do.

near the top of the program you can generate ID3 tags by filename or generate filenames by ID3 tags. if you can clean up your filenames, then you can do batch ID3 tags fairly easily. you just need to tell the program how your MP3 filenames are structured (like [artist] - [album] - [title] or something similar).

i thought the program was limited at first, until i learned to use all of it's features. definitely worth learning.

good luck!
