I voted Thunderbird, but that's mostly a personal preference rather than a technical judgement. I'd rather use something free and open. But actually, I use osx's Mail so I've sorta contradicted myself :p If it wasn't for that, though, I'd be using Thunderbird. In fact, I'm downloading it now to check it out on osx, because of your poll :)

It's tough to beat Outlook, though I'd take Thunderbird over Outlook Express.

Another vote for Evolution. But it really needs to get spam filtering more like thunderbird. Right now running spam assassin sucks.

Thunderbird. After switching from OE/Outlook, I'll never go back. I'm using it for my Uni mail too (IMAP) and it's fantastic, and with the minimize to tray extension it just runs quietly in the background with never a second thought.

Secure access to my own IMAP server via ssh from anywhere in the world, great threading support and the amount of customizability is amazing.

Thunder Bird is great. I also use Outlook at another location. I like both. Thunderbird rocks as a free app though..
