Best DVD9 to DVD5 backup program?

I haven't backed up a dvd in a while so I haven't kept up. Used DVD Shrink and Pinnacle InstantCopy in the past - are there any better options out now? Using windows, by the way.

I'm still using DVD Shrink :/

DVD Shrink is a transcoder and the best solutions re-encode the video. The best I have ever seen and used is DVD Rebuilder coupled with the Cinema Craft Encoder.

I read on somewhere about people using ripit4me and fixvts with 'shrink and 'decoder them but have yet to try it.

Best, easiest, and most fool-proof is RipIt4Me with DVD Shrink already installed. RipIt4Me is updated regularly and is freeware too.

Yeah, RipIt4me uses fixvts to remove all the bunk stuff from originals and fix the VOB's. Good stuff, mang. 🙂

Thanks! Trying ripit4me now. Curious, any better transcoder out there to try than dvd shrink?
I've always been pleased with DVD Shrink although I do the high-quality encode option(this C2D really earns it's way in this regard). I can't really imagine better rip quality because I can't tell my rips from the originals although I strip out extra stuff like languages, etc.

While not free, AnyDVD & CloneDVD are by far the easiest and most widely updated.

#1 rated in the backup communites like AfterDawn as well!

I've tried both of those programs and prefer the freeware RipIt4Me and DVD Shrink combo. 😉 Free is good.

The difference between DVDShrink and DVDRebuilder/CCE becomes apparent if you have to compress the DVD to 75% or less of the original size, and/or you use an HDTV.
