Ripper: SmartRipper is easy to use and works great. Also, mClad.

Divx Encoding: I use virtualDUB and DivX 5.0. I use the Lame encoder DLL for compressing to MP3 format, and the CDex to give my MP3 a WAV header (so that virtualDUB can use it). These are thebasic programs I use, but there are several steps involved.

That's what I do, but other prople have their own methods. You'd best get yourself over to one of many web sites on the subject:

www.afterdawn.com
www.doom9.org
www.vcdhelp.com

good luck...

Doom9.org has a good tutorial on using Gordian Knot, which is basically all the programs you need tied together with one UI. Makes it extremely easy, all the programs in one download, one interface, one tutorial.

I think DVD Decryptor is the best ripper. I always see threads about people having problems with smartripper and certain movies.]

Gordian Knot is definitely the best IMO.
