ATi DVD, though I would assume PowerDVD that comes bundled with OEM 9700 cards is optimized to take advantage of the ATi RageTheater chip, so it probably isnt too far behind in IQ.

IIRC, the new ATI DVD players aren't based on the Raviscent video filters no more, so they provide worse image quality than the older ATI DVD players. AFAIK, the newer ATI DVD players are based on the same video filter as PowerDVD, so both would provide similar image quality. PowerDVD does have more features and an arguably better user interface though.

Put the R9700 & a GF4 Ti side by side in the same system using any of the top software dvd players and you should notice very little, if any, difference in picture quality.
