I'm looking for a reliable yet good quality dvd player or recorder that will play pretty much anything I throw at it in terms of downloaded things.

I'm not sure if I want a recorder or just a regular dvd player, so perhaps if you have one of each in mind you could advise both!

Thanks a ton. A lot of people seem to tell me Philips, but the other half tells me never to touch them, so looking for some help from the experts.
