heard that the toshiba 16 can only rip at a max speed of 2x. heard it on the forum.

i hear the Lite On is sweet.
 
StorageReview.com has a pretty good review of the Lite-On 16X DVD-ROM drive up. The drive looks good. It replaced the Pioneer or some other drive as the Leaderboard drive. So that says something 🙂
