Best DVD-DL disks?

Not sure whether this counts as OT or General Hardware, so I went with OT 🙂.

I'm looking for the cheapest decent quality DVD-DL disks. Probably at least a pack of 50. Where's the best price?

Supermediastore.com has various DL media for around $2/disc.

DL media isn't quite there yet, even the best stuff coasters pretty frequently.

Eek...is it worth even buying it? I have a lot of HD movies (legally obtained) on my PC, yet movies end up being around 8GB. Therefore, I'd need a DVD-DL disk or two DVD-R's. Should I just stick with keeping the movies over two disks or get some DL's?

The compromise solution is to get double-sided media. It's a little (a few cents) more than twice the price of single-sided media, and has none of the problems of DL. I think you can only label the center, but I'm not sure.

Hm...this sounds good? So basically I just flip the disk half-way?

EDIT: I can't seem to find any on SuperMediaStore...mind linking?

I'm not sure how you would split a movie, but AFAIK, a double-sided disc is like 2 single-sided discs that happen to be glued together - there's no continuity of data. There is some sort of read change between the two layers in a DL, but I think the hardware handles it and tries to make the transition transparent.

There are suggested sites here: http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/buyerguides/buymedia.htm I've bought single-sided Taiyo Yuden from SuperMediaStore and RIMA - they were good, shipping speed seemed to be the same.
