have the same one. non-hacked as my speeds are totally fine for writing/reading. less than 40 bucks at newegg. comes in 3 colors: black, silver, beige. the silver only comes in OEM though, so beware.
 
Better burn quality and greater compatibility with a wider range of media. The older 3500s are limited to about 7x MAX read speed with DL media. Without hacked FW, the read speed is limited to about 3x MAX. All 35XX series can burn SL media at 16x MAX speed (about 6 min for a 4.7GB SL DVD).
