I have a Digital Rebel, but sometimes it is too large to carry around.

I would like to get a Digital Elph to carry around in my pocket on there occasions.

Options I have looked at:
SD550
SD500
S500
SD450
S410
SD400
SD300
SD200
SD110

I am a Canon Fanboy, so I will likely stick with them.

I am pretty much settling on the SD300, SD400, or SD450. The Megapixels don't matter much to me, just the size and durability.

Thanks for your opinions!

My brother has the SD500 and it takes great shots. The SD550 wasn't out when he bought his, so I'd say get the 550 if you can now. Great camera.

I purchased the SD550 about a month or so ago and am very happy with it. I'm not camera afficiando but it seems to take very crisp pictures but I'm still learning all the new options.

I bought the Canon Leather case for it (only fits the camera and nothing else). It's pretty nice and is pretty thick. I have heard that the first run of this model had problems with the LCD screens cracking but have since rectified that. It's definitely a solid camera. I like the multiple focus points and the 'focus light' (my old camera had one focus point and no light).

I was looking at the SD450 and wen't with the SD550 only because I got an open box buy at Circuit City for the same price as the SD450 and they threw in an extended warranty for it at no extra charge.

I recently purchased the SD400 as a gift. It is comically small, and I even got the cutest little camera case for it that is a belt-clip about the size pagers were 15 years ago. I was looking at a fujiF10 and a sonyW7 based on my own interpretation of image samples, but at the last moment, it hit me with blinding awareness, that even though those cameras had better pictures, some people were unhappy. This is not unexpected, but the canon was amazing in that it seemed that EVERYONE who had one and posted on the internet liked it. Which is astounding if you think about it. So I went for the canon. Budget dictated the 400 rather than the higher models.

if MP isn't a big issue, get a used one for less than half of current models, they will last a long long time if you don't drop it in water or from a tall height.

Our salesmen carry sd110s and sd200s and they've been little tanks. Indestructible, handy as hell and they take pretty good photos. As said before make sure you get DIGIC II.

SD20 for a real pocketable camera.

Outdoors during the day the pictures are very nice. It's smaller than a cellphone but don't let the looks fool you!

The SD30 is the newest of the series and they've added a zoom lens (the SD20/10 models were fixed with digital zoom which is pointless) but the camera is thicker and loses its ultra compact characteristic which makes it desirable in the first place.

Taken with the SD20 leaving Nassau yesterday afternoon. :)

Not shabby for a TINY camera. It does video too. :)
