Best DURABLE laptop ~$2000

What's the most durable laptop I can get for ~$2000-3000 with decent specs. It will be used for a lot of field work and durability is extremely important. Hopefully it won't be terribly heavy, but durability is much more important. I'm aware of a Panasonic one that has some sort of rubber coating and gel-protected hard drive. Something along those lines but less expensive would be good. TIA.
